Consultant Hydrogeologist/Geologist

Job Description

Working with a growing team of hydrogeologists, water scientists and land professionals, you will assess the impacts of land development on water resources and water quality as well as the risks arising from environmental incidents and contaminated land.

You will apply geological and hydrogeological skills to developing water supplies, assessing water balances and flooding issues, supporting planning and permitting processes.

In this role you will have the opportunity to be involved with all aspects of the project works from the preparation of desk-based studies, field monitoring, planning and supervising site investigation works to the preparation of reports including detailed quantitative risk assessment, conceptual hydrogeological models, and the implementation of remediation solutions.

Role competencies and experience

To be considered for this role you must hold a BSc in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field.

An MSc in Hydrogeology is desirable

A passion to deliver high quality work within agreed timescales and budgets. High quality recent graduates with a keen interest and commercial understanding will be considered.

Field experience (or a willingness to learn) of different drilling techniques in a variety of geological settings, the collection of soil. groundwater and surface water monitoring data, and aquifer testing

Experience of hydrogeology risk assessment and impact assessment

Chartered or a desire to work towards chartership with a relevant institution such as the Geological Society

A UK Driving licence is required

Salary: To be confirmed

Hours: 37.5 per week

Time off in Lieu/overtime arrangements to ensure work-life balance

Location: Based at the office in Shrewsbury but with an expectation to travel to meet project needs

Pension: Company contribution of 4% of salary to the company workplace pension scheme

Health and Wellbeing bonus: £35 per month to an activity of your choice promoting health and well-being, on provision of receipts. Free eye tests annually.

Company profit share: Profits (net of Director’s dividend) are divided between staff bonuses, community projects and further company development
