The Shropshire Water Forum (SWF) is back and stronger than ever, officially relaunching as a Community Interest Company (CIC). To mark this new chapter, SWF hosted its first in person & virtual event, “Peatlands Uncovered”, connecting environmental experts, stakeholders, and community members online to explore the critical role of peatlands in carbon storage, flood mitigation, and biodiversity.

A New Era for Shropshire Water Forum
The transition to a CIC allows SWF to prioritise community and environmental benefits, supporting projects that protect water resources, enhance ecosystems, and provide educational opportunities for residents and professionals alike.
The Forum aims to make Shropshire a hub of excellence in water science, advancing education, research, and collaboration across academia, industry, and the community. Together, we have the skills, experience, and passion to make a real difference. Exciting times ahead – watch this space!
Thanks to Lisa Davies for organising, our co-sponsors, Shropshire Wildlife Trust, & speakers, Rosie Morrant, Hannah Fraser, Pete Lambert, Rob Low (Rigare Limited), Simon Jeffery & Julia Casperd MCIEEM (Harper Adams University), Tom Smith & James Cotterill (SEP Geophysical).
